Eye essentials

We are all going to be out and about more over the next few weeks, late night shopping or meeting up with old friends. Let’s face it, your skin will be stressed with the exposure to the cold elements, tiredness and constant application of make-up only to wipe it all off a few hours later. Now that I am in my thirties I am trying to take better care of my skin and try to maintain a youthful look – somehow just drinking water alone isn’t cutting it. I’m determined to make a more conscious effort to maintain a better skin care routine and stick to it!

So with the impending Christmas festivities not too far way, I decided to shop around for effective eye care products to moisturise, combat wrinkles, puffiness and dark circles to keep me looking fresh and my skin revitalised. I think it’s important to research a product that will combat all of your problem areas and offer some nutrition to your skin. Therefore I put a lot of time into reading reviews and keeping an eye on the beauty market for new products.

I read recently that The Body Shop have launched a new range of ultra-intensive essential oils for skin care so I thought I’d check it out. The Oils Of Life™ skincare collection contains three precious seed oils. The facial oil, cream, gel cream and essence lotion intensely revitalize your skin and revive radiance. Sounds too good to be true really! I opted to try the ‘Revitalising Eye Cream-Gel’ – the reviews say it helps to reduce puffiness, dark circles and wrinkles.

The cute honey coloured pot sits easily in my handbag and I can carry it around me and apply on my lunch hour if I feel I am looking tired or dehydrated. After using it for a few weeks my friends commented on how much brighter my eyes looked, I felt I had a more youthful appearance and my dreaded dark circles had virtually disappeared. The only downside is that is costs £20 for a 20ml pot but when you compare this to the cost of other skin care products it’s actually worth every penny. I’ve tried everything on the market with a price range of up to £99 and I’d happily pay £20 every few months for this outcome. It’s an eye lift for your eyes without evasive surgery!
